EHang launches Ghost 2.0 drone with VR Specs
EHang, UAV technology company, recently released the new version of the popular drone Ghost drone 2.0. The drone will be available for direct purchase through the website EHang or in pre-sale on Amazon, and soon in Fry and Hobbico stores. Utilizing top-of-the-line design and engineering, Ghost 2.0 makes drone flying fun and – and virtually effortless.
Ghost drone 2.0 offers a number of new features:
Tilt control: This allows users to steer the drone with the tilt of their smartphone instead of complex RCA controls or “point and press” navigations.
An app, which is now available for Apple and Android devices, that allows the pilot’s cellphone angle to and control the Ghosts actions. This happens when the user tilts their hand which causes the drone to follow the gesture.
EHang Virtual Reality Specs allow users to see through the Ghost 2.0 camera and experience a first-person view (FPV) of the flight. Aerial imagery can be transmitted live to virtual reality glasses ranging from up to 900 meters away. The company claims there will be no latency for a real-time flight experience. In addition, virtual reality glasses have built-in motion sensors, so that when the user turns his head, the drone’s camera moves as well. Awesome stuff!
The Ghost 2.0 virtual reality glasses
“With our first two Drone Ghost iterations, we were able to build a solid engineering foundation that would help shape our vision for Ghost 2.0,” said Derrick Xiong, EHang co-founder and chief marketing officer. “Our mission from the beginning has been to bring drones to everyone, and that brings us closer to that reality. With the combination of tilt control and virtual reality glasses, even amateurs can master advanced aerial shooting techniques. “
The Ghost 2.0 App also allows the user to act as both a pilot and camera operator, controlling the drone and its camera simultaneously from your mobile phone.
