Syma X5C-1 Camera Explorers – Review
Syma has a great reputation and is known to be one of the leading manufacturers of helicopters and quadricopters. The Syma X5C is known for its cost-effectiveness and for being an excellent choice for beginners. But can a drone so cheap really be that good?
First, let’s take a look at the main features of this product and what comes in the package:
Inside the box
Syma X5C Explorers
4 Helix Protectors
2.4 GHz Remote Control
USB Battery Charger
1 additional set of propellers
1 Small screwdriver
2 GB Micro SD Card
Memory Stick USB
Dimensions: 20.5 x 3.5 x 11.8
HD camera included
Flight time: 7 minutes
Range: 30 meters
Transmitter Radio Control
The 2.4G remote fits perfectly in the user’s hand and needs 4 AA batteries to work. The batteries are not included in the package and you will have to purchase them separately.
There does not seem to be a delay because the drone movements follow the commands executed on the levers very well.
The only negative point of this control is the “fake” buttons, located next to the screen, that are only used to amp up the appearence. But other than that, there’s not much else to complain about.
Flying with the X5C
In the air, the Syma X5C is very agile. It is quite light, especially without the camera or the prop guards. If you fly without both and still take off the landing gear it looks great for doing acrobatics.
The controls are quite sensitive. All you have to do is tap the levers to adjust the direction.
Most of the time the X5C can climb back up after a crash in the event of an accident. This is a highly desirable quality because you will hit the X5C at least a few times until you get the hang of the controls, fortunately it’s built well enough to handle a few bumps.
The X5C comes with a 2MP camera that is capable of 720p shooting. The camera is reasonable. That’s all I can say about it. The videos are blurry and look like they’ve been zoomed in. This is definitely not the ideal choice for you who is looking to do advanced filming, but it’s a decent camera.
Let’s face it, just the fact that they include a camera at this price is incredible. Watch the video below that was recorded with this camera:
While many other quads with this price look more like toys bought at the local corner store, the Syma X5C fulfills exactly what it promises. The Syma X5C’s focus on clean design and simple functionality, making it great for new enthusiasts.
The Syma X5C is rugged, easy to learn, and equipped with the right features for its price range, resulting in an easy-to-use product that doesn’t look like a toy (despite having the price of one), it’s comfortable to Use, and will not break after the first flight.
In short, The Syma x5C is a great quadricopter that fits between toy and hobby categories. He has enough resources to train new pilots and leaves them wanting to try out more advanced and more expensive drones.
